Welcome to The Old Pal

Established in 2013, The Old Pal is a neighborhood cocktail bar located in the Normaltown commercial district of Athens, GA. Housed inside an award-winning historically preserved storefront, we offer a thoughtfully curated menu of seasonal cocktails, craft beers, and Old World wines along with a well-rounded list of whiskey and amari. 

Since opening, The Old Pal has been named one of the “South’s Best Bars” by Southern Living Magazine and has also been recognized by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as "Best of the Southeast." We've received press from the likes of The Washington Post, Tales of the Cocktail, and Punch, and we're honored to be considered "Athens Favorite Bar for Specialty Drinks" for 8 years in a row by the readers of Flagpole Magazine, Athens’ alternative weekly newspaper.
